I'm going to get married to a Divorcee and she has a son. Is there any issue in bringing her son as my dependent. Currently I'm on L1B. If so, what is the procedure.

Did you declare your arrest record at the time of I-485 filing and did INS respond to that? What stage of I-485 filinga are you? Do you already have your AP?
As far as I know you can be denied entry IF your I-484 is denied while you are out of the country.

I work with a consulting company on client side. The client is planning a shutdown for 2 days a month - 2nd and 4th friday.
Do you guys think its gonna imapct 485 application. I am asking this question cause the labor was approved for 40/hrs per week and the salary slip shows the number of hrs worked per month which will be lesser than 160 (incase the month has 4 weeks).
BTW, I am on EAD and 140 approved couple of years back.

Hi All,
Please help me on this. Here is the situation:
1. Company A First time H1B - Oct 1, 2004
2. Company B transfer - Jan 22, 2006
3. My current visa is expiring on Jan 22, 2009, but after Jan 22, 2009, I still have till Oct 1, 2010 to complete my 6 years of H1B.
4. Now, my wife who is on H-4 is currently in India on vacation, since she is not in US, her H-4 extension cannot be filed.
My question is, can I file my H-1 extension and go to India and get both of our visas stamped based on my extension? Or does my wife need to come back on her currently valid visa and file for her own H-4 extension?
Please advise and pardon me for my ignorance on this.

First of all please forgive me for creating a new thread. I am just trying to see whether any one in the same boat and what it could be.
I just found soft luds on my previous H1B which was approbed in 2006 Feb and I-140 which was approved in Dec - 2006 (I-140 lud was after one week of H1B Luf change). I wonder what it could be? I know there is no logic and it is hard to predict what it might be. May be some standard updates as some one suggested. But these two did not change in years.
Any way, any one in the same boat?

we were given special treatment because of our US citizen children. No waiting in line and even no qu from VO once he came to know about children
Actually I think that special treatment may be for all H1-b renewals. When we went for our stamping 3 years ago at Delhi, at the outside window they stamped our passport with "green" sticker or something like that and when we entered the hall at the FP window, they said you don't need to stand in line and we were taken directly to AO. We did not have children and it was my 2nd H1 renewal stamping and my wife's first H4 renewal stamping.

My H-1B petition is currently under processing in Vermont sevice center.
The receipt status shows it was recieved on May 8th and currently pending.
The processing dates on the USCIS website show May 31st as the current date.
Any reason why I still didnt receive a decision from USICS for my H-1B Petition? Does this mean anything? Or can i still keep the hope that I may receive a decision from USCIS?

Hello all, I am so impressed to see so many supports for the immigration bill. We all wish ourselves luck. :)
I have few questions regarding the H1B visa renewal. I hope someone who can kindly answer them.
Background - I got my H1B visa in about 2003, and I got married in Oct 2005. However, I am not able to claim my husband for the H4 visa. He is an undocumented immigrant in the U.S. for more than 10 years. So my lawyer told me that I could only help him to get greencard when I become a citizen. So I have the following questions :
When I do my first time H1B visa renewal, will my new Marriage status disturb me to get the H1B renewal? should I just simply fill in the form saying I am "SINGLE" and not tell the consulate? Will the consulate know?

Although I haven't confirmed, information of Sportsshooter is usually very reliable. Sounds like a lot of issues that were reported indeed were true. The 1D had an early fix after it's initial release as well. If true, it looks like Nikon is addressing the issues.

I doubt it, as the only issue I am aware of is some concerns about noise, and that doesn't seem big enough to do a recall
